"K" Line launches New South East Asia Feeder Service

May 18, 2006 -Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha , Ltd. ("K" Line) and New Econ Line Pte Ltd (NEL) will jointly launch a new South East Asia Feeder Service (ASECO-X2) that will commence in June 2006.

Three (3) vessels having 550 TEU capacity are to be deployed in this new South East Asia Feeder Service on a weekly basis.

The new service is intended as follows:

Penang – Port Kelang – Singapore – Ho Chi Minh City – Singapore – Laem Chabang – Bangkok – Laem Chabang – Singapore – Port Kelang – Penang

This new feeder service serves as 2nd strings of our existing A SECO-X jointly operated service with NEL and will cater not only to Intra-Asia traffic but also to provide high quality feeder service to trunk line cargoes to/from growing market such as Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.
